- HFS+ File System: Mac OS 8.1 debuted the Mac OS Extended file system, also called HFS+. This file system organizes information more efficiently to waste less space on large hard drives. 680×0 Macintosh computers cannot boot from an HFS+ volume, but they can read CD-R disks burned by modern Mac OS X.
- It'll help you clean up gigabytes of disk space in just minutes (you can download it here). Note: if you’re running macOS Sierra (or higher), it has a built-in option of Optimized Storage that is supposed to solve the problem of the full hard drive by moving files into the cloud.

The minimum requirements for running OS X Mavericks are based largely on the need for the target Macs to have both a 64-bit Intel processor and a 64-bit implementation of the EFI firmware that controls the Mac's motherboard. And of course, there are also the usual minimum requirements for RAM and hard drive space. At least 500 MB of space on your local hard drive to download the Parallels Desktop installation. Additional disk space is needed for the guest OS and future saved files. Note: Microsoft Windows 10 requires at least 16 GB of storage space.
